How Often Should You Get an EICR? A Nottinghamshire Landlord's Guide

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is one of the most important documents a landlord in Nottinghamshire can have. Since 2020, it has been a legal requirement for all private rental properties in England.

How Often Do Landlords Need an EICR?

Under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, landlords must have an EICR carried out every 5 years. The report must be provided to existing tenants within 28 days of the inspection, and to new tenants before they move in.

What About Homeowners?

For homeowners, there is no legal requirement, but the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations recommend an EICR every 10 years, or when buying or selling a property.

How Much Does an EICR Cost in Nottinghamshire?
